8/3/14, in Westbrook, in the Menunketesuck River Marsh (observations from the COA Wader Workshop): 5 LITTLE BLUE HERON (2 adults, 3 juveniles), 3 YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON, 10-15 Glossy Ibis, one Bald Eagle (that flew over and stirred everything up in the marsh), Spotted Sandpiper, Saltmarsh Sparrow, and many other notable species. In the thickets near the parking area: one WORM-EATING WARBLER was seen in response to pishing. A visit to the Menunketesuck Flats yielded: Black-bellied Plover, Ruddy Turnstone, Willets, American Oystercatcher, Least Terns, and long distance looks at Snowy Egrets, Little Blue Heron, and Glossy Ibis roosting on the trees on Duck Island.
