03/08/14 - Greenwich, Grass Island -- Redhead, Lesser Scaup, in the
harbor.
?????, 14 acre pond -- Male Northern Shoveler remains.  Also
Blue-winged Teal.

03/08/14 - Enfield, Barnes Boat Launch -- 1 RED-NECKED GREBE continues
and 8 NORTHERN PINTAIL.
East Hartford, Great River Park -- ICELAND GULL.
Hartford, Riverside Park -- 3 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS continue. The
Red-necked Grebe was 50 feet from shore offering great views.

03/08/14 - ?????, Quinnipiac River, Fargeorge Preserve -- 5 Redhead.

03/08/14 - Stamford (?) -- from a little park at the end of Harbor
Drive past the Yacht Haven Marina in Shippan; Breeding plumage
Red-necked Grebe seen again. This location is about a 5 minute drive
past Czecik Marina where it was originally located and reported. This
entire area is a nice place to view waterfowl close-up.

Long Beach in Stratford, Ct from 2:00 pm

Lapland Longspur, 5 Snow Bunting.
Milford, Milford Pt -- parking lot for Nature Ctr; 20 Bonaparte's
Gulls off Meig's Pt.
Milford, Mondo Ponds -- 4:00 PM; drake and hen Redheads, Fox Sparrow.

03/08/14 - West Haven, Woody Crest -- afternoon; had 4 EARED GREBES,
one was fairly close to shore for a while, but they were mostly pretty
far out in the sound.

fishing.

03/08/14 - Fairfield, sunken island -- 3 King Eiders continue at
sunken island in Fairfield at 5:30 pm, viewed from the western end of
Fairfield Beach Road.

03/08/14 - Stratford, Short Beach -- About 30 Snow Buntings.
Milford, Silver Sands -- Rough-legged Hawk, . But in the crazy
department a Chukar Partridge at Silver Sands running along side me on
the trail. Obviously an escape but surprised to see it!

the marsh.
Short Beach - Close views of a Snowy Owl on the north end of the park.
Eventually flushed a bit further north by a cellphone photographer.
Birdseye boat ramp -- Snowy Owl across the river.

Grebe and Northern Pintails present between 10:15 and 11 AM.

(near water's edge in saltmarsh, east of viewing platform at
end of path north from nature center parking lot).  SNOW BUNTINGS in
field by parking lot.  Two SNOWY OWLS (separated, on long gravel bar
in the Sound).
?????, corner of Wheeler saltmarsh -- possible 3rd SNOWY OWL in flight
just west of CT Audubon Coastal Center.
