I use 91% rubbing alcohol to clean binocular lenses.  I first use a Q-tip to lightly brush off any grit, then dip the other end in alcohol and clean the lens, drying with a microfiber cloth..  The alcohol cleans well, and leaves little or no residue.....  I learned this from a Swarovski rep who was cleaning binoculars at a birding festival..    Frank Gallo

Hello all,
Would anyone have data on population trends of DC cormorants along the CT coast over the past 15 - 10 - 5 - years. Through Earthplace, my students are investigating the decline of juvenile flounder and one theory is that, on top of multiple environmental insults, predation by DC cormorants is on the rise. Appreciate any help or direction you might offer. Thanks,

Sue Steadham, Wilton HS
