To anyone in the group who birds the Common Fields area in Mansfield Center, the Town gave the farmer who leases the fields for hay permission to spray the field next to the cemetary with RoundUp, this was done without there being any posting on site of the spraying. I walked through the field numerous times after the spraying before I was aware of this. I've both emailed and called the Town Manager as to why there was no posting and who should have been responsible for that, so far I've had no response. Besides my own exposure, I also worry about the drainage into the pond. Does anyone know about potential toxicity to wildlife?

Yesterday I went to the top of the bank at the dam on the Route 6 side. There was this beautiful Great Egret, a Great Blue Heron, a Semipalmated Plover, Killdeer, Greater Yellowlegs and a LOT of other shorebirds that were too far for me to identify with any certainty.
