TWGL: Minimalist Loop

I realize many on the list have become live aboards and thus have put on
their vessels all the comforts of home.

But I would like to do the loop and explore the connecting waterways as
a minimalist with a more basic vessel.

I would do sail but obviously sail on the rivers are not practical, and
could do paddle/camping but am getting old for that though I did do
sections of the loop that way years ago.

So what is the minimum for single handing the GL ?

If you would consider sail then how about a MacGreggor 26X?
They are relitivly comfortable, they sail pretty well, will cruise under
power around 20 knots,  and are trailerable. I have allways thought of doing
the loop this way mainly because the boat is trailerable and could be stored
very easily or even brought home if need be. The boat itself is pretty
comfortable for a 26' boat and the mast can be lowered very easy by one
person. Best of all it could be purchased new for about $25,000 ready to go.
