Yeah... so did I. So the very next oil change the lid popped off my dirty oil container and now I have a nice soft, beige colored with large black spot, oil-soaked carpet. Can't win this boat game

I put down some scrap carpet and it is REALLY easy on the knees. A long
piece on each side of the gen set and between the engines.

I use one of those orange-colored throwable "life-saving" cushions to
kneel on. Much better than carpet - thicker and softer. Keep it in the
bilge to kneel on when checking fluid levels, hoses, etc. It takes a
long time for it to get dirty enough to want to throw it away - at least
3-4 years - and the replacement is cheap enough at any boat store.
