The lowly o-ring has saved me several times. I kept large, thin cross
section, o-rings that served to seal leaks where the gasket was unworkable.
The thin cross section was near the thickness of the gasket and carefully
placed would seal most anything.
Low pressure didn’t worry me. Higher pressure was watched and replaced with
a better solution at opportunity.
