Hi,
I know that Lightning is being shipped now directly with Thunderbird and the Version needed for TB60 is thus no longer avail as an „Add-On“ on ATN.
However, that did not work for many users during the upgrade from TB52 to TB60: they simply do not have a working Lightning anymore and are unable to install it via the Add-On Manager, because the last version there is not compatible with TB60. Many users even think, Lightning is no longer supported in TB60 at all anymore and turn away from Thunderbird.
I know how to fix this of course and there are a few blogs and forums that explain how to fix this. But do we really want to send users down that road?
My question: Is it possible to push the latest Lightning version to ATN as well? This would greatly improve the current situation.
Since Lightning is still an Add-On (which can be deinstalled by accident) I really think it should be handled as such and needs to be avail on ATN until it becomes a fixed and unremovable part of Thunderbird itself.
Thanks,
John
Hi John,
this is my fault. I do intend to put the latest Lightning version on ATN, but have been so busy with other stuff that I haven't had much time for Thunderbird/Lightning lately. I'll try to get this done very soon now (tm).
