Being text bases I don't think there is much bandwith used...
Nevertheless, that's the way it works, when you SUBSCRIBE to a buddy's
presence you get a NOTIFY when her status changes... what are you
exactly thinking about?

No AFAIK, because you subscribe to each buddy indiviadually, so the
sip server will generate a NOTIFY request for each subscription.

Does this really saves bandwidth for NOTIFYs? Unless the server does not
queue notifications there will be the same number of NOTIFYs as with RLS
