Several reports of both Mississippi and Swallow-tailed Kites have come out
of Massachusetts and New Jersey in the last few days. This is becoming a
typical thing and it is the right time, but I'm surprised how many have been
spotted. Some of the reports have included several birds each. Seeing four
or *seven *Mississippi Kites must be amazing. There have to be more in
Connecticut either breeding, for Mississippi, or passing through. I'm going
to stare at the sky from the yard today - you never know.
We are due for a lot of birds. Those ducks with black bellies come to mind,
too...
