Hi Dave -
Sorry to hear of the fuel tank problem. Damn steel tanks are the Devil's
work aren't they?
Penny and I hope to see you and Nancy again this season. Carnival is early
this year so we should be sailing by mid-February.
On another note, you'll recall that we differed, a few months back, on the
legality of pepper spray in EC countries; I said I'd report as we visited. I
did call Chag (Trinidad) Customs the other day to see if we could bring pepper
spray into the country and were told, "No! Don't bring pepper spray here!"
However, this was quickly followed by, "But you can bring a firearm!" Gotta
love the Trinis! I'll report on the other island nations as we visit in early
'08.
Best,
John
"Seahorse"
John, we hope to run into you sometime this winter/spring in the Eastern
Caribbean. Heck maybe you can make a swing thru the Venezuelan Out islands
on your way back to Trinidad.
We're chained to the dock here in Puerto La Cruz while I tackle a leaking
fuel tank issue that just cropped up. We were provisioned and ready to leave
for our 6-8 month "Caribbean Cruise '08" when I found a wet spot on the
bottom of our 475 gallon port tank. Stuff happens and we'll see what we need
to do during this week. A quick repair or a lengthy replacement.
