Highlights of reports received February 19 through February  26 from
the Niagara Frontier Region include MEW GULL,  DICKCISSEL, RED-HEADED
WDPKR., GOLDEN EAGLE, and COMMON  REDPOLL.

February 22, on Lake Ontario at Olcott Beach, an adult MEW  GULL at

North American MEW GULL studied and  photographed at Olcott on the
15th. Not all field marks were  visible on the recent MEW GULL, but the
marks seen indicated  a possible European MEW GULL. Neither of these
    exceptional  gulls have been relocated.

Other gulls on Lake Ontario - 5 ICELAND GULLS and 3 GLAUCOUS  GULLS
    at the Wilson Piers.

A very rare DICKCISSEL, a first winter male, has been at a  feeder
this winter on private property in the Town of  Clarence. In Newfane,
by Lake Ontario, two rare and  declining RED-HEADED WDPKRS., on Cherry
    Croft Lane.

February 22, a subadult GOLDEN EAGLE over Mackinaw Road in  the
Cattaraugus County Town of Perrysburg. BALD EAGLES were  widely
reported. Five on Cattaraugus Creek in Hanover, 4 at  both Dunkirk
Harbor and the north end of Grand Island,  single eagles in Machias,
and BALD EAGLE on nest in the  Genesee County Town of Alexander, at
    Route 20 and Tonawanda  Creek.

While WHITE-W. CROSSBILLS and PINE SISKINS continue to be  reported
from yards, parks and cemeterys, COMMON REDPOLLS  now in the Lake
Ontario Plains. February 22, 300 COMMON  REDPOLLS with 15 WHITE-W.

the Town of Carlton. In  a Williamsville yard this week, 12 WHITE-W.

scarce this winter. Six ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS including a  dark-phase in
the Town of Dayton, another dark-phase in  Charlotte, and 3
