Colleagues, The nominating task group has completed is work and has identified a slate of two candidates for election to the NCL Board. - Kristin Lahurd (ALA), whose first term is ending, has agreed to stand for re-election. - Judy Mortrude (CLASP) has agreed to stand for election for a first term. Pending your approval, I will present this slate and conduct the election at the Members' Meeting on September 26. For the record, only two candidates are needed this year to maintain the Board at the minimum number (9) specified in the bylaws. The task group considered presenting a larger slate, but decided not to do so, since we will need three candidates next year and four the year after that. If you agree with the slate as presented, you don't need to respond to this message. Please do respond right away if you have questions or concerns. If I haven't heard from you by a week from today (August 24), I will count your silence as agreement with the slate as presented.
