Hello everyone.  My name is Chris Connolly, an Assistant City Attorney in Lincoln, Nebraska, home of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).  Chuck Thompson suggested I get on this list.  UNL has about 25,000 students here.  We (the City) have a pretty good relationship with UNL, but occasionally run into difficulties.  Parking  is always an issue, although UNL is building more parking garages.  There is sometimes disagreements on the level of financial or other support the City should provide for campus expansions or upgrades.  I'm sure at least some of this sounds familiar.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Chris,
Welcome aboard. We look forward to having you on our list, but also
hope that you will join us in our regular University Cites conference
calls. They are very informative, and cover a lot of ground unique to
local government lawyers who represent areas where there are major
colleges and universities.
For example, I represent Leon County, Florida, home to Florida State,
Florida A&M, and Tallahassee Community College, the collective
enrollment now approaching 70,000 for all 3 schools. Lots of interesting
issues.
So, again, welcome, Chris.
Herb Thiele.
