Hello all:
Palmetto Moon with Jim, Su, and lazy cat Alex are in Oriental, on the hard,
having bottom work done.
While we wait on the work to be finished, idle minds go to work and dream of
what we can do to improve the boat.
One major wish, thought, idea is to change from a bimini with enclosure to
a true hard top with enclosure.
I have talked with a few that have done the conversion and most are very
pleased with the outcome.
But, we know how boaters will sometimes embellish the facts and true costs,
for the Admirals benefit.
Palmetto Moon is a 42' Ocean Alexander with a bridge size of approx. 17x15
and normally cruises the East Coast from FL to Chesapeake.
Questions:
Who and where is a good and reasonable provider of this up-fit?
What are the down side/s to this project?
What length of time should this take?
Does anyone have any drawings or specs for an enclosure?
What costs will I be seeing?
Any other details I have missed?
Thanks in advance
Jim Cobb

Jim,
Others will provide a lot more detail but this link is to a company in VA
near Deltaville that does exceptional work. I have seen actual
installations.
