Observers:        Mark Cunningham, Mary Carnahan, Ronnie Goodhand,
Su Ross-Redmond

Visitors:
Today we had a group of from Earthquest (Cristy Thiessen, Stephen
Miernicxe, Ronnee Sykes, Nata and Magen Mateev) with leader Dave Jolly. A
big thankyou to Russ Chantler for doing a great talk and live bird demo for
this group. The birds in the demo included an adult male Harrier, a 2nd
Harrier, a Redtail and a Northern Shrike (though not a raptor, shirkes
certainly act like them!!). Also Helen and Noel Thompson.

Weather:
The day started with overcast skies but the rain held off till nearly noon.
Winds were moderate fromthe ESE then SE.

Raptor Observations:
A very small flight today with the rain threatening for most of the morning
and the winds from the SE (our worst wind direction for flights at Hawk
Cliff!!). The total for today was just 31 birds....Harriers (6), Sharpies
(24) and a lone TV.

Non-raptor Observations:
The passerines were still on the move today although quite high. This
migration pretty much came to a halt once the rain started.

Predictions:
Saturday looks like it'll be a washout...but Sunday is looking very
promising right now with sun and cloud and moderate NW winds.
