Dear all,
A PhD position as well as postdoc research visits are available at the Software Engineering Lab (Faculty of Science) of the University of Mons, Belgium. The goal is to collaborate and carry out research on the topic of empirical ecological studies of the evolution of open source software ecosystems (i.e. large collections of collaborating software projects and communities), by drawing inspiration from ecological measures and models used for studying biological ecosystems. This should lead us to better insight in, and support for, the survivability of software ecosystems and their constituent projects and contributors.
The PhD position is available immediately. Candidates should be eligible for starting a PhD in Sciences (they should have a Master or Engineering degree or equivalent) a, should have practical programming experience, and should have a clear interest in biological and software engineering aspects.
To apply for the PhD position of for carrying our a research visit, please send a mail (preferably together with a detailed CV and motivation letter) to Tom Mens (tom.mens@umons.ac.be).
