Yamaha still makes a "High-Thrust" version outboard engine. The one I bout several years ago was a 25 HP 4-Stroke that has the bottom end (leg and prop) of a 40 HP motor with a different pitch prop, and a different gear ratio. They are optimized for a 9 MPH wide-open-throttle speed (7.8 knots). Someday I hope to finish building the custom mounting system so I can take my boat OUT of it's slip.
