It should work, but why not find a way to connect the top of the sight tube to
the top of the tank. That way you don't have the risk of somehow having fuel
slosh out of the top of the tube when the tanks are full. I think this would
be the direct result of either Murphy's Law or The Law of Unintended
Consequences ( or both ).
