Dear Members and Friends of the SSYCDS,
As I am sure you know, today is Giving Tuesday! This is just reminder that the Society for Song, Yuan, and Conquest Dynasty Studies is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, so your donations are tax-deductible. Please consider donating to SSYCDS today for tax benefits and the benefit of knowing you are supporting the field of Song-Yuan Studies. Because our membership is also tax-deductible, you may also support the Society by simply becoming a member or renewing your membership. These funds are used to support the publication costs of JSYS (including color reproductions of select images in print and digital formats), panel participant subventions and receptions at the annual AAS, and other activities which encourage scholarly exchange and the growth of the field. This year the CARES Act may make charitable donations more appealing for many, even those who do not itemize deductions. For more information see: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/how-the-cares-act-changes-deducting-charitable-contributionshttps://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.irs.gov%2Fnewsroom%2Fhow-the-cares-act-changes-deducting-charitable-contributions&data=04%7C01%7Ctracy.g.miller%40Vanderbilt.Edu%7Cac2b1ca80f1e455847dc08d895b9df10%7Cba5a7f39e3be4ab3b45067fa80faecad%7C0%7C0%7C637423972832069940%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=BXhPkkToaVW3icjTkXbsO%2ByaKEZxzsohYR5bYXlCTJI%3D&reserved=0.
An added incentive: JSYS 49 is currently in production, and digital access will be available before the end of 2020. Thus, if you renew your membership today, we will send you a paper copy of Issue 48, and you will have early digital access to Issue 49.
Remember, annual SSYCDS memberships follow the calendar year, so paper copies of 49 and, at minimum, digital copies of Issue 50, will be included with memberships received during calendar year 2021. However, if you pay for a multi-year membership now, the larger membership tax benefit would fall entirely in 2020.
If you would like to donate to SSYCDS, or renew your membership, you may do so using Paypal, or by sending a check to our Treasurer XU Man. Details for both methods can be found here: https://www.songyuan.org/membership.htmlhttps://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.songyuan.org%2Fmembership.html&data=04%7C01%7Ctracy.g.miller%40Vanderbilt.Edu%7Cac2b1ca80f1e455847dc08d895b9df10%7Cba5a7f39e3be4ab3b45067fa80faecad%7C0%7C0%7C637423972832079928%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=b%2FCpHAOa1zYZoy1Llpw3zvJXCeXE7URekagXUBrbjqA%3D&reserved=0.
Thank you for your continued support!
Best wishes for 2020 and the New Year,
Tracy
