Come to Tacoma’s historic Proctor District at North 26th & Proctor to enjoy fabulous music, a juried art show, handmade arts & crafts, a sidewalk sale, a food drive and the bite of Proctor. Fun and savings for the entire family!
PROCTOR ARTS FEST
The 14th annual Proctor Arts Fest is right around the corner with a packed schedule of summer fun on August 7th from 10 am to 6 pm. There will be over 100 arts and crafts booths lining the streets with handcrafted items including blown glass, jewelry, photography, clothing, pottery and much more. Four art demonstrations will be held during the day featuring metal forging/blacksmith, spinning, pottery and ice carving.
The Bite of Proctor will be interspersed with the arts and craft booths. Imagine visiting your favorite Proctor eateries on a walking culinary tour with our Proctor district chefs offering some of their best culinary creations on the sidewalk. The newest addition at the Bite of Proctor will be Sweet Things Cupcakes and Couture providing a selection of Tacoma’s finest cupcakes.
Four main stages provide entertainment all day long. The Metropolitan Market Main stage showcases four bands ranging from blues to rock along with a choreographed karate show presented by The Academy of Steve Curran & Fitness. The schedule includes:
10 AM - Noon Rockin' Chair Money, an Americana/Blues/Roots band
1 PM – 2 PM The Collective, a new rock group
2 PM to 4 PM A very popular folk duo, Reilly and Maloney
4 PM – 6 PM The New Blues Brothers, a popular Northwest-based rhythm & blues group
The Family Stage at N. 28th and Proctor will delight kids with puppet shows, bands and Turk the magician. There will also be culinary and arts demonstrations. Try not to miss Alexis St. John create a wall mural at N. 26th & Proctor.
The 12th annual juried art show is a long-time highlight of the Arts Fest. It takes place at Mason United Methodist Church August 7 and again August 8th. Wag Pet Market will present their annual Top Dog Contest, Parade and Fashion Show again this year on Saturday.
SIDEWALK SALE
Proctor Arts Fest wouldn’t be complete without the gigantic sidewalk sale put on by the Proctor merchants each year with up to 75% off selected merchandise. The sale starts on Friday, August 6th and runs throughout Arts Fest.
FOOD DRIVE
The annual Food Drive takes place Saturday at the Safeway auxiliary parking lot on N. 25th and Proctor between 9 AM and 2 PM. Please bring packaged/canned food and non-food items like toothpaste, shampoo, and soap or monetary donations to benefit the FISH Food banks of Pierce County.
You can also give blood at the Bloodmobile.
There are plenty of ways to enjoy and make a difference at Proctor’s Arts Fest.
Proctor Street will be closed between 25th and 28th streets and Madison to Adams on August 7th to accommodate the festivities.
