For those headed south on the Great Circle Route listed below is my
latest posting to marina changes on the GIWW. Even if this area manages
to avoid more hurricanes this season, marina space will be at a premium
from about mile 160 to mile 225.

Gulf Coast ICW (GIWW), Mile 155.1 EHL, New Marina
*NOTE. *A new marina, Homeport Marina (251-968-4528,G,D,P) has opened
just east and adjacent to LuLus Restaurant. This upscale marina will
help make up some of the slip shortage in this area. After the
hurricanes of 2004 the following marinas have closed and will not
reopen: Pirates Cove Marina (mile 164.9), Rod N Reel Marina (mile 176.7)
and Snug Harbor Boatyard (mile 291.4). In Pensacola, mile 183.0, Seville
Harbour is still closed, but hopes to begin rebuilding in early 2006.
