Our orioles enjoy the suet as well, sometimes even more than the orange halves that we hang from the clothesline (the only guaranteed squirrel baffle!). I don't know if they're particular about flavors, but we always offer peanut-flavored suet -- the birds completely snub any other offerings, no matter how "gourmet".

A brilliant male Baltimore oriole was eating SUET at my feeders at 5:15 p.m. yesterday, May 3rd. He was there at least 10 minutes. Is this normal behavior? I hadn't put out any oranges or nectar as yet.
