Have there been improvements in inflatable fabrics? For a while now I've
seldom seen inflatables deflated, at least not like I used to see.

I’m on my fourth inflatable in 22 years. I am quite sure the valves are much improved during that time. It also seems the PVC models have improved UV resistance from years ago. Certainly rigid hull models are more resistant to abrasion than the previous designs. They were too expensive for me in 1999.

I had an Avon SeaRider 4.0 from 1984 to 2009.  Hypalon is terrific!  Of
course, it was a patchwork after all those years, but a great boat.  The
kid who bought it is probably still getting his money's worth!
