I have used Semco exclusively on the windows, rails, swim platform and steps
on Chateau de Mer since 1986. It is very easy to apply and very easy to
maintain. The only issue (not for me) seems to be folks like to see shiny
wood. We are happy with the non gloss effect. In all those years, we only
stripped the Semco once, and that was by accident. The admiral wanted to do a
'deep cleaning' before adding the next coat and the full strength detergent
cleaned it down to the wood. I guess this would be a good thing if you like to
strip the finish once in a while.
We use the Golden Tone color. No experience with other colors. Maintenance
coats just require a wipe down with water before beginning. No sanding ever.
Just a happy customer. No connections etc. YRMV.
