Kris,
You didn’t say what fabric the top is made of, but most probably it is
Sunbrella.  If it is Sunbrella, use 1 cup bleach and ¼ cup mild soap in
1 gallon of water.  For more detailed instructions, go to the Sunbrella
website:  http://www.sunbrella.com/cleaning/marine-tops-covers.php
Even if your top is not Sunbrella, but vinyl, the same mixture should
work.

I have seen miracles happen in cleaning Sunbrella.  We have a customer
who has a yellow Sunbrella pilothouse cushion that looked awful and
wanted to replace it.  After using the above mixture, the cushion looks
like new.  I talked myself out of a job!!!

Good Luck,

Steve Schrimsher
