there are some tabletop radios that can receive SSB signals. I have
a Sony model (old) and use it to listen all the time.
But, given what you have done so far, and where you are going, and
what you may be doing, I would install an SSB transceiver, and get my
amateur radio license.
I predict that in the end, you will have wished you had gone that
route to begin with.
