The news around the world is bleak, the sky is low, it’s wet, it’s dark and it’s wintertime in the Northwest. I just want to do my best to put a smile on people’s faces in February. The show is going to be called “Whimsy”. I’m looking for pieces that are whimsical, fun to look at, and artful. I have wall space and plenty of room for sculptural things. Some pieces could hang from the ceiling. My vision is to do up the gallery in a way that is really fun to walk through. I want to create a visual feast of fun stuff. I’m looking for paintings, drawings, sculpture, neon, glass, jewelry, etc. It doesn’t have to be brand spanking new, it just has to be something that you feel fits the criteria. It has to be whimsical to your mind. All work must be priced for sale, keeping in mind that the gallery will take a forty percent commission. There isn’t much time. To submit a piece for consideration, I’ll need a photo emailed to me at petemac@wamail.net , with whimsy in the subject line. Please include the medium and dimensions and your contact information. I am going to make the call as to what is accepted, which will depend on what fits and if it will make people smile. I want this to be a feel good show, because I think we all need that about now. The Brick House Gallery has had a really good start. I believe it can be as good a gallery as there is in Tacoma, but what it and I need is participation and support from all sorts of people.
