Richard,
For a good selection of oil and kerosene lamp wicks, try:
www.oillampparts.com

There are about half a dozen suppliers of oil lamp wicks in the USA,
searchable on Google. Most specialize in antique lamp wicks since few
people use oil lamps today. Fortunately the technology hasn't changed
much in the last 100 years.

Richard,

In addition to Larry's suggestion, you might also want to check out
the Lehman Hardware website (http://www.lehmans.com). This is a
generally useful supplier of all manner of cool non-electric stuff
like propane lights and kerosene stoves. Well worth perusing just for
fun.

Thanks to all.
Turns out the outer ring of the burner was not concentric with the wick
carrier because it was slightly off
its threads at the bottom.
This seems to have fixed the problem, lamp is in service after about five
years keeping it just for looks.
