I can't attest to previous years, but they certainly have become more frequent at my house in Stratford over the last 2 months. I hear or see them flying overhead towards the Housatonic every morning, and back the other way to wherever they roost at night. Saw about 20 in a noisy flock before sunrise this morning. I learned to differentiate the crow species because the Fish crows call reminds me of a small child saying, 'uh-uh!'. -Brian Webster-

Naugatuck Yard - N.Goshawk fly-over
Siskins are still here.
Question about Fish Crows - Over the last 5 years or so I have noticed the number of Fish Crows grow in the Naugatuck/Waterbury area, but this year they seem to be extremely abundant. The crow flocks flying over have a good number vocalizing the typical two-noted "er-er". The FC numbers have been noticably larger this year IMO. Has anyone noticed this or is it just me? I remember when seeing (or better hearing) a fish crow wasn't all that common but now I seem to hear them whenever I'm outside my house.
