Optimal Meanwell for a Trimble Thunderbolt (RT-65B)

Hello to the Group, trying to help a friend get a Trimble Thunderbolt
GPSDO, back in to service. The real question I want to ask... is there
an optimal/most practical Meanwell AC Triple Output +12V, -12V & 5V
power supply? ... by model number (please)?

I prefer to only use Meanwell if given a choice (and no other easy
option) for this specific application. Jameco has the RT-65B Power
Supply available, Triple Output 5V 5A 12V 2.8A -12V 0.5A 65W  I'm sure
there are other decent sources, right now we're trying to zero in on the
smallest Meanwell power supply, adequate for the job.

My major concern with using the RT-65B is that I don't yet know the
Thunderbolt's -12V (negative) current requirement.  If 500mA is enough
to operate the unit, we'll be well on our way to having this unit on line.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

cheers

Hi

This is an alternative:

RT-50B

If you are focused on Meanwell, I would make very sure it comes from an approved part of their distribution chain. There are a lot of clones out there.

My Thunderbolts all use open-frame linear power supplies manufactured by International Power, Condor, and PowerOne.  They're expensive when purchased new but are typically under USD $100 on the surplus market.  Some model numbers to start a search:

HCBB105W-A+G
IHCAA-60W-510

Regardless of your final decision, I suggest not skimping with the power supply choice.
