I recently discovered a davit system that looks attractive to me. It is the Hurley slide on dinghy cradle.   You slide the dink on and off easily, from what I've seen.  It attaches to the swim platform and can be removed when needed. I have a 10' dinghy and a 15 hp Yamaha,  so this option looks good for easy launch and retrieval.   I put the dink and motor on top of our 40' Europa style trawler when going off shore,  but I think the Hurley system might work well for ICW and river cruising,  and when we spend time at anchor or on a mooring.
