Good morning, I just wanted to let you know (some of you know this already) that I have reached an agreement with the National Adult Education Professional Development Consortium (NAEPDC) and the National Council of State Directors of Adult Education (NCSDAE) to become the next executive director for both organizations, replacing Lennox McLendon, who as most of you know, is retiring. I will be joining NAEPDC/NCSDAE on July 1st. At our next board meeting (June 1 at 10:30) we can discuss the transition and what it means for the board. Technically, I don’t need to leave the board (I’ll switch me membership over to a “friend”) and since not a lot goes on over the summer, I’m happy to continue over the next couple of months until my term as president ends. I do not know if NAEPDC/NCSDAE members would be interested in NAEPDC/NCSDAE rejoining the coalition, but that is something I plan to explore. However, I have not raised that with them and can’t imagine doing so until later this summer at the earliest. At any rate, I plan to work much more closely with NCL and NCL members in this new gig. That was something I discussed with the NAEPDC/NCSDAE executive team during our initial discussions and they were very clear that’s what they wanted as well. I’m very conscious of the fact that my work with NCL over the years was a strong factor in their decision to hire me for this job, so I owe all of you a lot of thanks for your friendship and support.
