7/31/24- “way off the deck”- Millie and I just returned from a Walking Tour of Appledore Island sponsored by Shoals Marine Laboratory operated jointly by Cornell University and University of New Hampshire ( the oldest and largest undergraduate-focused marine lab in the US)-Northern Gannet, Common Eider, Black Guillemot, American Oystercatcher, nesting colonies of Herring and Greater Blackbacked Gulls, Glossy Ibis. They offer a birding trip in the fall co-sponsored with NH Audubon Society.( shoalsmarinelabratory.org/public-programs) Over 200 species occur there as migrants. You’ll love it!! Ernie, Colchester
