I am delighted to present a new member, Julia Orell juliaorell@gmail.commailto:juliaorell@gmail.com , who has provided the following self-introduction:
Julia Orell is an art historian with her main area of research in Song and Yuan dynasty landscape painting. She received her PhD from the University of Chicago with the dissertation "Picturing the Yangzi River in Southern Song China" and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Academia Sinica (Taipei), where she is working on a book project titled "Landscape Painting and Geographical Knowledge in Song China". She has taught Chinese art history at the University Zurich (2010-2014) and is a recent recipient of a postdoctoral fellowship at the Getty Research Institute, where she developed a second research project in the historiography of East Asian art history with a focus on methodological questions in early twentieth-century German-language scholarship.
