This is the second catamaran for the same owner.  The original HayFu was a
Trawlercat Marine 60' built in Nova Scotia and launched in 2000.  After five
years the owner was so pleased with the original boat he decided he wanted a
larger, faster catamaran with much the same layout and features as the one
he now had.  Captain Brian took the original Trawlercat Marine Design plans
to a naval architect friend in Florida and they came up with the 85' version
for Hayfu II.

She was built at the same yard in Nova Scotia over a three year period as
the owner wanted a quality boat and was in no hurry as he was still using
the 6o' Hay Fu.  Hay Fu II was built using carbon fiber foam sandwich to
make it lighter and go faster with just a pair 650hp engines.  Hay Fu II has
a luxury fit out with six staterooms and crews quarters for 4. It also has a
lot of high tech gear and a sophisticated audio-visual system.

Hay Fu II was launched in August 2008 at a cost of around $7 million.

I saw a beautiful, new looking, very large powercat come under the Sanibel
Bridge last week. Name was Hofou or something like that. Anyone know
anything about it. Duel curvy stairways coming down in back.
