Hello Everyone Did a late afternoon check along the Ottawa River between Shirley's Bay and Deschenes Rapids. Overall the river is frozen except for a few open leads. At Deschenes Rapids there was a female and male Barrow's Goldeneye at the top end of the rapids. Also present were 330+ Common Goldeneye, 4 Bufflehead, 8 Long-tailed Duck, 1 Lesser Scaup and 2 Canada Geese. Around 800+ gulls were roosting on the ice below the rapids including 1 ad. Lesser Black-backed, 17 Glaucous, 9 Iceland Gull and 120+ Great Black-backed Gulls. good birding, Bruce Directions: If you require additional information, please email me privately.
