We installed the Stamoid/Stratglass combination together with a hardtop when
redoing our fly bridge and I must say I am happy with it. I recommend using 40
mil Strataglass all around. I am not sure what you mean by screens but what we
did, which is possible with a hardtop, is install an extra track so sun
shielding screens can be installed and clipped at the bottom of the "windows".
In practice we rarely use them however, leaving the back door rolled up seems
sufficient up north - well maybe not right now with this heat wave!

If you are re-doing the whole thing you might consider the hardtop- it lasts
for the life of the boat, you can put your antennas, horns etc up there and
the seagulls can't destroy it - they did a hell of a job on my soft top when
at a mooring. It also is completely waterproof, and can have a sun visor/rain
deflector overhang in front. I suspend my radar from it and even have a
Heatercraft unit on the fly bridge for late summer cruising. Incidentally I
would recommend turn buttons rather than snaps for securing the Stamoid, it is
a heavy material. Also weep holes on the outside below the window stitching.
