Fall 2015 Athletic Fields Help

All,We are starting into the Fall season budget planning and are behind in the accounts until we have our normal events and dues collections.Up to now we had historically paid for fields as we approached each individual reservation date. This has since changed and has caught us off guard. With our current tax deductible status we are hoping to get some help from the oldboy community in the form of game and training day sponsors. If you would like to help out the club and sponsor any one of these we would make you an honorary active for that training. And remember that all your donations to the club are tax exempt.
As you know what separates the Quins from other teams and rugby apart from other sports is the level of teaching we do at all levels. We are reaching out to vets to help recover from overseas deployments this season in addition to helping guys with jobs and housing. This all plays into the Harlequin mission.
Please take this opportunity to help us out and allow us to keep our dues reasonable for all.
Thanks,Tom Vyles

The purpose of an honorary active is essentially to name the practice after the donor, and to include you and name as an active for the week.

Our goal with this was to give the old boys an opportunity to donate to something specific as opposed to giving generically to the club.

The honorary active can come to the practice he sponsored, to see firsthand
what his money is going for. If he wants to participate in the practice to
get a better taste of it, he can, but we'll leave that up to you to decide.
At practice, it will be made known that you are the sponsor of that
practice, so the guys can personally thank you to your face.

We have a new coach for the fall, Angus Peacock. He's a Scotsman by birth,
but spent the last decade in China becoming the best instructional coach in
Asia (according to the head of coaching for the IRB for all of Asia). Now
that he's in the US, USA Rugby has tapped him to start coaching coaches how
to coach in the USA. He started with us in the spring, but now he will be
able to fully implement his own plan. He is bringing some exciting new
things to the club, and this will be your chance to experience the new
direction of the club firsthand. For those who knew Jim Greenwood (author
of Think Rugby and Total Rugby), Angus' coaching style feels like a modern
version of that (in my opinion).

As far as dollar amounts go, the practices at Garland Park cost about $100
each (lights doubles our cost). Practices at Cook Park cost about $60 each.
Practices are every Tuesday and Thursday, They start this Thursday and
going to the last week of October. Sept. 15 is when we make the shift from
Cook to Garland. So, you can pick any of those dates to sponsor.
Sponsorships can be made through the PayPal donation link on our website.
Just denote which date(s) in the comment/memo section on PayPal when you
submit your sponsorship.
http://www.harlequins.org/dues/store

Donations are tax-deductible, due to our new 501c3 status! When you make
your donation, you'll get our tax ID number so you'll be able to write it
off as a charitable donation on your taxes.

All,
We are starting into the Fall season budget planning and are behind in the
accounts until we have our normal events and dues collections.
Up to now we had historically paid for fields as we approached each
individual reservation date. This has since changed and has caught us off
guard.
With our current tax deductible status we are hoping to get some help from
the oldboy community in the form of game and training day sponsors.
If you would like to help out the club and sponsor any one of these we
would make you an honorary active for that training. And remember that all
your donations to the club are tax exempt.

As you know what separates the Quins from other teams and rugby apart from
other sports is the level of teaching we do at all levels. We are reaching
out to vets to help recover from overseas deployments this season in
addition to helping guys with jobs and housing. This all plays into the
Harlequin mission.

Please take this opportunity to help us out and allow us to keep our dues
reasonable for all.

The honorary active can come to the practice he sponsored, to see firsthand what his money is going for. If he wants to participate in the practice to get a better taste of it, he can, but we'll leave that up to you to decide.
