With the rain, strong east winds, big surf, and huge tides (highest I've seen in several years) on 10/28, I was hoping for some interesting storm-blown birds when I arrived at Compo Beach, Westport for lunch. No such luck. There was virtually nothing offshore, but the beach held 2 late LAUGHING GULLS, 36 RUDDY TURNSTONES, 4 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 2 SANDERLINGS, and a KILLDEER.
