From who did you buy the 2000 for less than a boat unit...  And

I just purchased a JRC 2000 Radar for less than a BU.  After reviewing

other

units costing 3 times as much, I chose the JRC.  My previous radar was a
Raytheon that was OEM'd from JRC in 1991.  It was one of the top of the

line

units at that time and cost many BU's.  While the new units are more
powerful and have larger screens and advanced features, I realized that

my

old unit was perfectly suited for what I needed and the JRC 2000 has more
power and features than the old unit.

I talked to JRC tech support who e-mailed me additional instructions on
tuning the system after installation. They are more extensive than what

is

written in the manual. .  If anyone would like a copy, please contact me
off-line.

While JRC has been around for a hundred years and selling products in

other

countries, they still have trouble with some translation.  This is a

CAUTION

statement from the manual: "When installing an aerial, make a hole for

the

water pulling-out. The equipment sometimes becomes breaking cause because

it

is flooded when getting a hole for the water pulling-out without making

it"

Tech Support assured me that I did not have to worry about any water
pulling-out holes...
