Draft Letter on Omnibus

Hi folks,

Here is a draft of what I am confident is a non-controversial letter echoing what several other groups are arguing in light of the recent budget deal and subsequent negotiations on the final 2016 appropriations.

The coalition’s position on appropriations since WIOA’s passage has been that at a minimum, adult ed under Title II should be funded at the authorized level. That’s basically what this letter says, in a nutshell. Please let me know if you have any objections by noon today. I know that this is an absurd deadline, (it may be past noon by the time you see even this message), and I apologize, but time is of the essence, I can’t imagine there will be any objections to this — and it is already quite late in the process to be sending  a letter (I expect the decision on our line item has already been made — but you never know). It’s good for NCL to go on the record with a position on the bill in any case.

Sorry again for the short notice.

Thanks,

Jeff
