Hello All,
I just talked to a guy in Nobeltec's sales
department about my problems with the Visual
Navigation Suite newest versions.
You see they won't run under Windows 98SES so I
can't use them.
I need to run a version 6.x to allow me to avoid
sending any more money to Microsoft.
\ So here is what I learned today.

If somebody wants to sell (or give) me his
version 6.x Visual Navigation Suite, CD, manual
and all, they DO allow this transfer.
The current owner needs to go to the Nobeltec
website and download and printout a form, the
'ownership Release' or 'Ownership Transfer'  form.
He fills it out and faxes it to Nobeltec and they,
AT NO COST provide the mechanism to allow me to
install and use the program on MY computer!!!
How neat is that?

So, all you folks out there with a copy of
Nobeltec's Visual Navigation Suite, version 6.X,
Please let me know what it would take for me to
get you to send me your CD and manual.
I just can't wait to be able to upload and
download waypoints and routes with my two Trimble
GPS units!!!  :-)  :-)

I went through that process about 6 weeks ago. Nobeltec makes it quite easy,
and you can download the forms from their website. Both parties have to
provide basic info and sign off on the transfer.

Even more interesting/generous, once it occurs Nobeltec treats it as a brand
new sale, and no matter how often the former owner installed it, provides
the new owner with three new installs, the same number that comes with a
shrink-wrapped kit.

I found the people I dealt with unfailingly helpful.

Cheers, Garrett
