As I’m sure most of you are aware of the fact that there has been an American Flamingo frequenting a salt pond in Little Compton RI for several weeks. Well the bird has not been seen since 12 August. Everyone should keep an eye out for, what might be, the first state record for CT. This bird seems to like salt ponds, so places like Milford Point, Sandy Point in West Haven, Griswold Point in Old Lyme, Jordan Cove and Harkness State Park in Waterford, the Poquonnock River at Bluff Point and Mumford Cove in Groton are just some of the places in the state to check.
