G'day all, time to move on.........
Nancy and I have made a move ashore from Swan Song to a home in Florida.
Medical reasons and we both are closer to 80 than we feel but time has been
good to us.

Below is my first cut at making an ad to sell Swan Song. Many of you might
have followed some of her adventures over the last decade or so or her
total reconstruction the decade before that ;-)

She is a true offshore passagemaker and has safely completed passages that
would put less competent vessels in jeopardy......

So here is the blurb, if you have interest or have a friend that does let
me know and we can start a dialog. Have a great day and safe seas! Feel
free to let  us know how the ad sounds and anything else you might
change......

Swan Song

A very custom 1974 built Roughwater 58 North Sea;  58’ on deck, 65’
overall, 12’6 beam, 80,000 lbs light, 104,000 lbs heavy, 7’ 6” draft heavy

  • a  beauty of a ship. Lying in the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, Waikiki, HI

A proven passagemaker!

A great full-time cruising liveaboard vessel!

A home on the water!

Swan Song is available for a new owner that would like to enjoy and use her
capabilities. She can turn your worldwide cruising dreams into a reality

Currently located in Honolulu, Hawaii, a great location to continue west or
southbound on your voyage to places/islands you have always wanted to
visit.  Enjoy the Hawaiian Islands, the South Pacific, or bring her back to
the mainland - whatever your dreams may be.

Nancy and I have cruised the Caribbean Islands, South America, Panama
(going through the canal) Central America, Mexico and Hawaii during our 17
years of ownership.  A log of our adventures can be found on Nancy’s
personal website listed below.

Co-designed by Ed Monk Sr. and built in Taiwan as a Roughwater 58 North Sea
model trawler in 1974, she has had an interesting and colorful life.  As
the current owners, we purchased her in 1998 and did a complete refit over
the next 7 years - changing her from a good cruising boat into a real and
exceptional self-contained offshore passagemaker. Her longest non-stop
passage was the 2700+ nm run from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to Honolulu. This
passage is longer than any passage that one needs to make in a round the
world voyage, so we know that Swan Song has demonstrated she has the heart,
legs and stamina to finish such a venture without any effort on her part.

Swan Song has been our full time home on the seas and has carried us to
places few have been. It’s now time to offer her to new owners who would
like to continue with her voyages on the sea and discover all of the joy,
excitement and adventure that cruising & passagemaking has to offer.

We are starting to wind down our 70's look at 80 as our next b'days, a bit
old to continue on as health issues have crept into our lives that make
long periods of being offshore personally a bit risky. If this were not the
case, then our adventures on Swan Song would happily continue.

Whatever your cruising/voyaging plans might be Swan Song is equipped to
turn them into a reality for you – and a reality in style.  Most seaworthy
vessels in Swan Song’s class are 2+ million dollars new and $4-500K used.
She stands out from the crowd and makes an impression that stays with
people who have been aboard her - and she is extremely comfortable.

Our asking price makes her, by far, the least expensive passagemaker, with
circumnavigation proven capabilities, by 100’s of thousands of dollars.
She needs few updates to ready her for another extended offshore  cruise - all
within the normal cost of preparing for long passages. Every owner is
different and every one carries spares/supplies at different levels to make
them comfortable before casting off.

Our needs and yours will certainly vary but if we were heading west or
south bound from Honolulu I’d update our tender, the 8 man liferaft needs
recertification, a haulout to put 4-6 coats of ablative bottom paint on,
etc. Fuel her up to the top, put on enough provisions and ice cream for a
month or two and Swan Song is ready to head out again. You can read about
Swan Song’s magic carpet ride on Miss Nancy’s Journal
http://www.missnancysjournal.com    Use the left sidebar “Our Home-Swan
Song” which will lead to many different stories, details and adventures.
Heck, the entire site is filled with stories that center on their lives
living on the water. It’s all out there for people to see, read and enjoy.
You too could join into this wonderful community where Swan Song takes you ☺

Swan Song has also been featured in several magazine articles over the
years as she is a true “Headliner”.

If you think it’s time for you to get out of the office & head out into the
wonderful world of full time cruising/passagemaking drop us an email to
start a dialog. We’ll be back in Honolulu for April/May which is a great
time to leave the cold spring and take a hard serious look at her while we
are there.

If you have the urge to see the world by water,  now is the time. Swan Song
is a the vessel to take you there safely, comfortably and is far more
affordable than any other option on today’s market worldwide.

Save the brokerage fees now, asking $225K as a private sale for the month
of April.
