T&T List tops 2,000!

Zowie!

The number of subscribers to T&T List has topped 2,000. It's truly a
cause for celebration, for several reasons:

Despite the advent of Web-based forums, including our own

TrawlerCrawler.net, an email list such as ours has long legs. (I don't
know how many times over the last 12 years I've heard predictions that
T&T was about to wither away.)

The reason for the steady growth of the List isn't that the trawler

market is booming, which it's not, especially not in this downturn.
The reason is the wealth of information, knowledge and entertainment
that is posted by active participants. (I personally cannot wait to
read each day's digest every morning.) You people are simply amazing!

There is no question that another reason T&T continues to grow is

that it's one of cleanest, best-behaved, most-to-the point forums out
there. Much thanks goes to you, the subscribers, for being nice to
each other (almost always!) and for the self-policing that we see so
often. Credit must also be given to the volunteers, headed by Bob
McLaren, who make up the List Admin Team that keeps us on course.
Theirs is an often thankless task for which we all can be grateful.

Thanks also for those who contribute during the annual fund-raising

which ensures the List is self-sustaining. (Methinks I'm overdue in
posting the latest batch of donors.)

I personally appreciate so many things about T&T but what warms my
heart the most is the sense of community that we all share.

Thank you, everyone!
