I installed a set of Lester Power Davits on a customer's boat on the
Tennessee River three years ago. They are a well built unit, and the
installation was no more difficult than it should be. The only caution is
that your transom must be strong enough to stand the considerable stress
that will be placed on it. The boat on which I installed the davits had a
fiberglass transom about 5' high, 10' wide, and 3/8" thick, with no
stringers or reinforcement of any kind. I had to spend a day reinforcing
the transom to take the strain before the installation could be completed.
The customer has been very pleased with them.
