Has anyone used this on your trawler yet? Is the placement of the antenna
an issue?

Terry,
I've used what I believe to be a similar service called Worldspace, in
Asia. We used a portable with an attached patch antenna in an open
cockpit so that we could get BBC World Service out of range of the FM
signal.
The antenna does need to be aligned with the satellite but not so
accurately that pitching and rolling affect the sound.
regards
Simon

Terry,
I purchased a Sony XM radio for use on my trawler, but haven't installed it
there yet. I am using it in my car, and it works great. It has a magnet
mount and is on the top of the car. They say for home use you just have to
let it have a southerly unobstructed view. If you can get it on top, there
is no orientation problem, it is omnidirectional. I'm sure you could leave
the antenna inside and it would work as long as it didn't have metal to the
south of it.
