On the wall, the bird was just south of the beach/spit, on the near side to Erie Basin, and sitting in a hollow taking shelter from the wind. It sat and rested/slept for about an hour before taking a short flight along the wall and appearing to land on the beach/spit, amongst cormorants, right up against the wall. I was never able to relocate it after that. Total observation time was from about 11:20am to 12:10pm. Joe Mitchell
