I'm one of the Krogen 42's in the area, and that was us (Anastasia III)
in the boat parade Sat. night! We finally (after about 4 years of
nippin' at TMCA's heels") won the Campbell trophy for best overall boat
in the parade. Sonny "Clark Griswold" Crisler from the list took 1st.
place in his category, but we all thought he should have gotten "most
beautiful." For those of you who didn't get to see it, we rebuilt the
twin towers of the WTC on the boat deck, surrounded by the skyline of
NYC done in lights. Everyone on board was dressed as firemen, police,
military, rescue workers, medical, etc. We played Lee Greenwood's "Proud
to be an American" pretty much throughout the parade. We also flew a
huge American flag that looked very good in that 15-20 knot wind! It was
a lot of fun! However, now I get to take all those decorations down.
Where's the crew NOW? Hahahaha! Let's roll!
